Noticeboard

FLU SEASON IS HERE. PLEASE BOOK APPOINTMENTS WITH THE NURSE FOR A FLU JAB AND ASK THE DOCTOR AT YOUR CONSULTATION TO GIVE ONE IF YOU NEED IT.

Thank you for cooperating with the drug switches as advised by the MEDICINE MANAGEMENT TEAM AT THE CCG.

Old Road West Surgery is disappointed at the decision by the Care Quality Commission to place the practice into special measures, following a practice inspection in August 2017. The CQC inspection report highlighted areas where the surgery was delivering a good service, which reflects the commitment of all practice staff to high quality patient care, but also identifies areas that we need to improve.

We take the safety and welfare of our patients very seriously and have already started addressing each of the CQC concerns through a robust action plan.

We are committed to making all necessary improvements for all of our patients and the practice is confident that the outcome of any future CQC inspection will reflect this.

Patients that may have specific feedback or questions regarding our service are encouraged to write directly to the practice via letter or email so that we can respond to each enquiry we receive.

Latest News

Please note: we are currently making some improvements to our main surgery premises, including updating and redecorating consulting rooms. This work may cause some minor noise disturbance from time to time, for which we apologise. We will do all that we can to minimise noise or disruption while the surgery is open and thank you for your patience.

Take the "Friends and Family Test"! Next time you call in to either surgery, please take a moment to complete a very brief response slip to tell us how likely you would be to recommend us to your friends or family, if at all, on the basis of your latest experience. All feedback is appreciated and you will find the results published on the NHS Choices website, alongside those of other practices across the country.

If you cannot keep an appointment you have booked, please let us know so we can offer the time to another patient. All our patients would find it easier to book an appointment to suit them if there were fewer wasted appointments each week.

We now use a text message reminder service for appointments - please ensure we have your up to date mobile number in order to make use of the service. If you do not want to receive such reminders, simply reply "OPT OUT" to be removed from the service.
